​What is a Strategic Learning and Developmental Plan? It is a plan design crafted to maximize the capabilities of an academically challenged individual, specifically those with autism, by outlining and developing a plan that parents and teachers can use together. The key is that once you have identified the traits specific to your autistic loved one, you can develop the tools needed to help achieve personal developmental goals as well as academic! Furthermore, you create a consistent pattern of learning that strengthens your child understanding, and in turn, strengthens their independence!

Creating Your Own Strategic Learning and Developmental Plan!

​Creating your own Strategic Learning & Developmental Plan is a process that is filled with a lot of "hits and misses", but achievable! It requires observation-you have to pay attention to every detail of your child's traits as well as his or her personality from "DNA" (I want that DNA part to sink in...bloodline traits are real and something serious!). You should keep data on behavioral consistencies and successful strategy results. You will need an island filled with stored patience! The key to developing a plan that works specifically for your child is patience. You can't force a teaching/lesson...you have to ease it in, and you have to be prepared for rejection! You may encounter other obstacles along the way (behavioral, or creating an unwanted routine), and what works once may fail the second time! Which brings me to the last tip...be CREATIVE! The work and efforts you put into loving, learning, and teaching your autistic loved is taxing, so take every opportunity you have to make a learning experience a FUN and sometimes SELF ENTERTAINING one!
